Sociological Imagination

Outcast in Society
Another pattern that has been recognized in society would be that a group of people will pinpoint individuals with certain quirks or flaws and excommunicate them. Excommunication could occur because of any number of reasons. These reasons can range from the general disliking of being annoying, having bad habits, or even because of physical attributes. In doing so, emotional distress stands between the two parties. In using my sociological imagination, I understand that indiviudals will exile a group member if they have committed some sort of taboo within the ranks of the group. It could be something such as stealing to something as little as how they smell. Humans will have a basis of liking one until they are tired of putting up with them. As soon as their kindess expires then "bye-bye friend". This is an every day occurance in our society.
Workplace ethnics
One of the patterns that has been recognized in workplaces would be that more caucassians are placed in more higher positions than any other ethnicty. The abundancy of caucassians in higher positions is most likely due to the comfortablity and likeness of all caucassians to one another. The managers are more likely to promote individuals of the same ethnicity than one of a different ethnicity. Using my sociological imagination, I understand that an individual will trust another individual who looks similar to themselves, leading them to ultimately trust the person who looks like themselves rather than different people. They are more comfortable with a people that look like them. It isn't necessarily racism, but it is a unconscious choice each individual makes.
